Olivia joined BLH as an Associate in April 2024. Prior to BLH, Olivia worked as a Staff Attorney for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, where she reviewed prisoner civil rights cases, petitions for postconviction relief, and criminal appeals. She received her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in May 2023.
During law school, Olivia gained experience in civil rights litigation as a legal extern for the ACLU of North Carolina and as a summer associate at BLH. She also spent a summer working as a felony intern for the Wake County Public Defender’s Office, as well as a semester interning for former Associate Justice Sam Ervin on the North Carolina Supreme Court.
Olivia served as an executive board member of the North Carolina Law Review, the UNC Law Innocence Project, and Law Students Against Sexual and Domestic Violence. Additionally, she was elected to the Order of the Coif, served as an Honors Writing Scholar, was recognized for completing over 200 hours of pro bono work, and received the Jerry B. And Callie Irene Stone Constitutional Law Award. Prior to law school, Olivia received her B.A. in Reporting Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
